Way to Help Title Way to Help Content When you’re a Healthy Visions mentor you are part of a support network that empowers youth to identify and reach their highest potential by helping them build the mindset and strength of character to become a source of strength for their family and community. We work around your schedule-you could even mentor during your lunch hour! Mentoring sessions happen at Reading Community Schools, in the classrooms where we have the Healthy Visions mentoring session. When you arrive, your student, Kaylee, greets you and excitedly tells you how well she did on a recent test. You ask her about her week and listen actively as she describes what is going on in her life. Together, you reflect on the message from this week's TYRO Rites of Passage group mentoring class. You then use the TYRO book to complete this week's activity with Kaylee. At the end of the time (30-60 minutes, depending on how talkative she is and your time constraints) you remind her how important it is to do your best in school every day, be kind to her family and friends, how proud you are of her growth and how excited you are to see her again next week.
