Way to Help Title Way to Help Content As a StEP Volunteer, you bring fun to financial literacy. You will check in at the main office when you arrive at the school where you are volunteering. They will then direct you to the StEP store location in the school. You will know you’re in the right place when you see tables set up in the designated area with containers filled with school supplies and fun items that students can purchase with their StEP money. You review the checkbooks that the students bring and help them determine what they can purchase. You then help them check out and figure out what their new starting balance is. You get to have fun interacting with the students who love talking to adults, shaking hands, and asking questions. The StEP store experience, in addition to learning about choices, gives students the opportunity to work on soft skills that they might not otherwise have a chance to do. stEP has programs in 24 schools throughout the Greater Cincinnati region, and each school's store is open four times per year, once every quarter. Each school store is open for approximately three hours per quarter. We are very flexible and happy to fit your schedule- if you wish to only stay at the school store to help for one hour that is perfectly fine.
